Once again, I am open to queries; I’m looking for women’s fiction that may encompass thriller elements (dark, gritty, twisty), action/adventure, female friendships, and research grounded historical fiction (I love when the writing sends me down a research rabbit hole).
Romances are always on my list, please query me with:
- Fresh takes on tropey fun romances and rom-coms full of snappy, snarky dialogue
- Swoony meets cute with feisty heroines, STEM heroines, characters who play against type, and heroines who are a “hot mess,” as long as they have redeeming qualities
- Action packed romantic suspense, perhaps with a psychological thrill ride
- Historical romances in unique settings
- Realistic, contemporary stories – especially dramedys
- New twists on holiday themes
- Plot driven stories whose characters have lots of emotional depth
- Big city stories, small town stories, and stories set in all areas of the US; I appreciate a strong sense of place with characters connected to that place
- Category romance
- Please, no aliens, no outer-space, sci-fi, vampires, werewolves or paranormal, no dystopian or apocalyptic
It’s a lot harder to define what I’m looking for in non-fiction, because my interests are varied, the most important thing to know about non-fiction is that the author must be known in their field, and have an established media presence. Non-fiction writers should have a deep audience awareness and a clear plan for reaching them.
